I-NetNews Editorial
May 11

New Castle, Delaware

It's the second day of the race. We missed the morning restart at Princeton High School; but the I-NetNews Team spent the morning keeping out of the rain and dealing on technical issues. We reviewed our first day of publication on the SolarQuest web site and suggested many changes for our WebMaster, Ron Swenson.

After failing to resolve the transfer of our pictures from the previous day's photo shoot, we set off to Princeton High School in search of an on-line computer. We were warmly received by the school principal, Mr. DeVito. He arranged for use to meet with a journalism class with a room full of computers the likes we have not seen at Chelsea High School.

We visited our newly published web site with Princeton students and asked them to offer their opinions. We discovered that they have recently decided to publish their school newspaper on-line. They were excited about our trip and wished us well.

We caught up with the rest of the NESEA Tour at the Burlington County Institute of Technology. There Sam viewed the recharging station and spoke with our new friends from Riverside School in Vermont. The rain and poor lighting kept us from getting portraits of other high school teams, but we made good contacts. If the rain lets up, we will get pictures at the exhibit at the New Castle Air National Guard.

This was the longest day of the race, over 100 miles. When we arrived in New Castle we were greeted by the Colonial School District with a hearty meal. We then retreated to our hotel rooms tired but determined to get our stories out for the day.

The real highlight of the day was the poster contest awards at the mid-day restart ceremony. Cassie covered the news story well. However, a few kids could not be found after the awards ceremony to get their names. I hope we get an e-mail message with their names. Every poster will be featured on the web site.
